We are delighted to invite you to the upcoming GRIFE Seminar Series XII, titled " CULTURAL-HISTORICAL ACTIVITY THEORY (CHAT) AS FRAMEWORK FOR EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH ”.

This lecture introduces the key concepts of cultural-historical activity theory and their relevance for educational research. The key concepts are (1) activity system as unit of analysis, (2) historicity, (3) contradiction, (4) zone of proximal development, (5) expansive learning, (6) transformative agency by double stimulation, and (7) methodology of formative interventions. Each concept is explained against its historical background, and its potential in educational research is discussed.
