GRIFE Finnish Education and Global Perspectives Seminar Series XI
We are delighted to invite you to the upcoming GRIFE Seminar Series XI, titled " Universities of Applied Sciences in Conversation: Finland–Hong Kong Perspectives ”.
The event will be held in panel discussion and hybrid format. You are welcome to join us onsite at The Education University of Hong Kong or online via Zoom.
This panel brings together leading voices from Finland and Hong Kong to explore the evolving role of Universities of Applied Sciences (UAS) within two distinct educational contexts. Featuring a Finnish scholar, a practitioner from a Finnish UAS, and a Hong Kong-based researcher specialising in comparative UAS studies, the discussion will examine the rationale behind establishing UAS institutions, the contextual factors shaping their development, institutional missions, experiences in industry collaboration, pedagogical innovation, and cross-cultural learning. Through this exchange, we aim to identify shared challenges, highlight distinctive strengths, and uncover opportunities for mutual growth between the two systems.
