GRIFE Finnish Education and Global Perspectives Seminar Series XIX

We are delighted to invite you to the upcoming GRIFE Seminar Series XIX, titled " Student Experience ABCDE:Practices in the UK  ”.

Student experience has become increasingly critical in UK universities. If in 2014 it was dismissed as a buzzword,by 2025 it has emerged as one of the central organising logics of UK higher education. This talk reviews theevolution of ‘student experience’ as a concept and sector priority, drawing on the speaker’s professional practiceas Director of Student Experience. This talk outlines a conceptual framework of five key dimensions: Academic,Belonging, Co-creation, Digital, and Employability, demonstrating how student experience is increasinglyconnected not only to satisfaction but also to progression and student success. It then extends the discussion toglobal contexts, considering how holistic and evidence-informed approaches can be adapted across diverse highereducation systems.
