GRIFE Young Scholar Seminar Series IV

GRIFE Young Scholar Seminar Series IV

We are delighted to invite you to the upcoming GRIFE Young Scholar Seminar Series IV, titled " AI-Related Cognitive Challenges in Education and the Role of AI Literacy ”.

This seminar explores the cognitive challenges introduced by AI in education, including increased offloading, overtrust, and dependency. Psychological factors such as self-efficacy and performance expectancy shape these cognitive issues. In turn, they influence learning achievement and outcomes. Therefore, designing AI literacy that can regulate these AI-induced cognitive challenges is essential. Such design requires fostering learners’ critical thinking about AI, ethical awareness, and competent use of AI tools. Drawing on empirical research, this presentation demonstrates that AI literacy plays a central role in mitigating learners’ cognitive difficulties and promoting self-regulated learning.
