GRIFE at EdUHK Visits Tin Ka Ping Foundation to Foster Collaborative Dialogue
The Global Research Institute for Finnish, European, and Global South Education (GRIFE) at The Education University of Hong Kong (EdUHK) participated in a delegation visit to the Tin Ka Ping Foundation today ( 21 January 2026) at its headquarters in Kowloon. The visit, which included a tour of the foundation’s exhibition hall and an extensive exchange of ideas, aimed to explore opportunities for future collaboration in education research and development.
The delegation was hosted by Mr. David TAI, Chief Executive, and Mr. Hoi-ting SIU, Deputy Chief Executive of the Tin Ka Ping Foundation. GRIFE representatives included Professor Yuzhuo CAI, Co-Director of GRIFE and Professor in the Department of Education Policy and Leadership at EdUHK, along with Dr. Ruoyi QIU (Serena), Senior Research Assistant at GRIFE.
Also attending the meeting were guest scholars Professor Baocun LIU, Director of the International and Comparative Education Research Institute at Beijing Normal University, his visit was supported by Tin Ka Ping Education Fund's Visiting Scholars Exchange Programme 2025/26, and Professor Xiuzhi YANG from the Beijing Institute of Education.
The agenda featured a guided tour of the foundation’s exhibition hall, highlighting its longstanding contributions to education, teacher training, and youth development across China. This was followed by a roundtable dialogue focusing on contemporary issues in international and comparative education, educator development, and sustainable educational partnerships.
Professor Yuzhuo CAI, speaking on behalf of GRIFE at EdUHK, expressed appreciation for the foundation’s ongoing support and emphasized the institute’s commitment to strengthening academic and institutional ties between Chinese Mainland, Hong Kong, and international educational communities.
The Tin Ka Ping Foundation reiterated its dedication to supporting innovative education initiatives and fostering meaningful exchanges that contribute to educational policy and practice.
The visit concluded with a networking lunch, marking a constructive step toward potential joint projects and continued dialogue.
