GRIFE Finnish Education and Global Perspectives Seminar Series XXX

We are delighted to invite you to the GRIFE Finnish Education and Global Perspectives Seminar Series XXX, titled " Strategic Data Use in Danish Schools: How School Leaders Navigate Different Data Logics Across Four Organisational Arenas”.

In this talk, Dr. Laursen will explore how school leaders in Danish primary and lower secondary schools strategically use different types of data to navigate the dual demands of accountability and professional learning. Drawing on a comparative case study across three municipalities and 10 schools, he examines how leaders engage with data across four organisational arenas: professional learning communities, class reviews, annual reviews with municipality administrators, and leadership team discussions. He will show how data use is shaped by the specific logic of each arena, illustrating how leaders balance competing expectations by adapting their practices to different institutional purposes.
